Shared thermal energy consumption represents the amount of thermal energy that isn’t measured by individual heat meters but is included in the bill as per the ERO’s methodology.
The allocation of this shared consumption is calculated and billed based on the proportion of the heating area of each residential unit or business premises relative to the total area of the collective building. This value approved by ERO constitutes 20% of the thermal energy consumption in the collective building.
Shared consumption is billed to all metered and unmetered residential units, and the value changes each month depending on the total thermal energy consumption.
How can shared thermal energy consumption be reduced?
- By thermally insulating the secondary network pipes;
- By installing automatic closers on the main entrance door of the collective building;
- By glazing all the corridor windows of the collective building, etc.
