PROJECT TO DOUBLING CAPACITIES

With the project for doubling the capacities and decarbonization of heating system, it is planned to double the thermal capacity to 280 MWth, from the 140 MW that POE “Termokos” J.S.C currently receives from KEC. So far, the preliminary study has been carried out, paving the way for the realization of this project. The consulting company has been selected, and meanwhile, work is ongoing to collect data for the existing heating network and examine possibilities for further expansion in other parts of the capital.

Through this project, the possibilities of POE “Termokos” J.S.C to expand the heating network to more consumers will be significantly increased. This will lead to a reduction in electricity consumption and a decrease in air pollution due to the reduced use of other heating alternatives.

The capacity doubling project will be financed by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
