Termokos is giving meaning to Green Prishtina

The CEO of POE “Termokos” j.s.c, Mr. Fisnik Osmani, along with the Mayor of the Municipality of Prishtina, Mr. Përparim Rama, and the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Prishtina, Mr. Alban Zogaj, notify the announcement of the tender for the project “Solar4Kosovo II – Solar Central Heating”, Lot 1 – District Heating Plant.

Through the implementation of this project, we will have the opportunity to provide services to 32,000 citizens of Pristina in five neighborhoods: ”Tophane”, “Prishtina e Vjeter”, “Lakrishte”, “Kalabria” and “Mahalla e Muhaxherëve.”

Solar4Kosovo is the only project of its kind in the Balkans and the second largest in Europe. It will produce 50 MW of clean thermal energy using 63,000 m² of solar thermal panels and a 380,000 m³ hot water storage tank.

The environmental benefits for Prishtina will be significant, placing the capital on the global map of green cities. This project will enable a reduction of 44,000 tons of CO₂ emissions per year.

Call for applications

We invite interested applicants to submit their applications for pre-qualification, which includes the procurement of a solar district heating plant comprising:

A seasonal pit thermal energy storage (PTES)

A solar thermal collector field (SCF)

The project will be executed in accordance with the Conditions of Contract for Plant and Design-Build (FIDIC – Yellow Book). The estimated completion time is 30 months, followed by a 6-month commissioning phase.

The project is financed by grants from the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and the European Union (WBIF), through KfW as the Lead International Financial Institution, a loan from the EBRD and a national contribution (Termokos).
